A Rundown of Some Genital Diseases Caused by Sex
Safety is something that must be put in high regard for everyone who engages in sexual activities. Unsafe sex could lead to a multitude of problems for both parties which may include STDs or sexually transmitted diseases. These infections are special because they are unlike common types of virus that are mostly airborne; STDs are transferred from one person to another through sexual contact.
There are more than just a few types of STDs out there. Some affect a certain sex, while others cause damage to only certain parts of the victim’s body. This article will take a look at two diseases caused by sex that are related to the genitals – genital warts and genital herpes.
Genital Warts
One of the possible STDs that can be passed from one sexual partner to another is genital warts. This STD manifests itself by the development of warts or fleshy growths in the genitals area of the afflicted. These warts can also develop in the anus, cervix, and in the vagina. The problem with genital warts is that they are not always identified immediately because of the fact that they are not easily seen.
To cure this STD, physicians usually prescribe special ointments that will provide relief. People who show any signs or symptoms of genital warts should immediately have himself or herself checked.
Genital Herpes
Another common STD is what’s known as genital herpes. This STD has a number of classifications, but for the most common type the symptoms include aching, tingling, or itching in the testes, penis, or in the vagina. These itches are then followed by the appearance of sores that develop on and around the affected area.
For some women, genital herpes develops on their cervix. Similar to genital warts, this type of herpes may not show too many symptoms. In fact, some cases have been known to heal themselves after a number of days. The problem is that there is currently no direct cure for genital herpes as it still remains to be one of the most elusive diseases caused by sex.
