Sex Therapy Cures Anorgasmia

In general, women only achieve orgasm in about fifty to seventy percent of their sexual intercourses. However, the frequent inability to reach an orgasm may be a sign of a sexual problem known as Anorgasmia.

Basically, if you often find it hard to reach orgasm even after you have received adequate sexual stimulation, you may be suffering from Anorgasmia. This condition is very common. According to researchers, fifteen percent of the women around the globe have Anorgasmia. Women with this condition encounter difficulty in reaching orgasms. Some may also suffer from the lack of intensity in their orgasms.

Treatments and Medications

Treating Anorgasmia may require a variety of medical treatments and therapies. The treatment plan is based on the underlying cause of the symptoms.
Sexual Therapy

Sexual therapy can help alleviate sexual problems of women by targeting the psychological and emotional causes of the situation. Most sex therapies often involve a discussion in increasing communication skills, lessons in sexual education, and behavioral exercises. It may also include self sensuality assessments. Often, sex therapies require the participation of your sexual partner. Sexual therapy can often alleviate the symptom of Anorgasmia through the following methods:

Understand the body. The patient should be able to explore her body and analyze how she can achieve sexual satisfaction. This aims to determine the ways by which the patient likes to be touched in order to receive sexual stimulation.

Explore tools for sexual stimulation. Most sex therapies include the introduction of various sex toys which can be used to achieve sexual satisfaction, leading to orgasm. This may include vibrators, dildos, and the like.

Explore sexual positions and other forms of direct stimulations. The reason why most women can’t achieve orgasm is because they are not getting adequate sexual stimulation from their partners. As such, an important part of sex therapy includes a discussion of sexual positions that can produce more pleasure for the woman. Techniques in oral sex and clitoral stimulation are also discussed.

Establish intimacy in the relationship. Aside from sexual stimulation, sex therapies aim to fix conflicts and disagreements between the couple. This is primarily because a more intimate relationship can increase romance and passion during sexual intercourse.

Medical Treatments

Estrogen therapy. Oral medications that contain estrogen may have a positive effect in developing more intense sexual responses. Estrogen therapy in the form of vaginal creams or suppositories can increase blood flow to the genitalia and develop sexual pleasure

Testosterone therapy.  Medications that can increase the level of testosterone or male hormones in the woman’s body may help increase orgasm, particularly in cases where estrogen therapy does not produce positive results. However, such may cause side effects such as acne, excess body hair (Hirsutism), and mood changes.
